While you usually can’t find super cheap discount tickets to Disney World, there are a few options to look at to save money on your Disney passes.
Did you know that you can buy discount tickets to Disney World direct from Disney itself? It’s true, and there are several ways to do it. For example, if you simply purchase your tickets ahead of time, you’ll be charged less than if you purchase them at the gate. Since you’ll have to book your hotel room, you’ll probably already know how many days you’ll be at the parks, so buying tickets ahead shouldn’t be a problem for most people.
Disney also offers discounts when purchasing their hotel rooms and tickets together as a package. This is called the Magic Your Way package, and you can choose the hotel, number of days for your tickets, and whether you want a basic ticket, or if you want to add options like park hopping (going to more than one park in one day) or water park visits. Since a single day ticket can cost up to about $80, but a 10 day ticket can be under $300, you’ll save a lot of money simply by purchasing a multi-day ticket. After 6 days, each additional day is usually less than $4 per ticket, making a 10 day ticket almost as cheap as a 6 day ticket.
AAA and other associations offer discounts, and if you work for a company that sponsors a part of the park (such as Fed Ex sponsoring Space Mountain and Siemens sponsoring Spaceship Earth), you may be able to get discounts through your workplace, and if not, many of the sponsored attractions have special lounges for employees of that company, which will at least save you a little on refreshments.
Travel agents stay up to date on all of the discounts that Disney offers, and so should be able to save you money on your vacation, even if it’s not specifically on tickets. However, there are licensed resellers of Disney World tickets who may be able to get you a great deal. Just be wary of companies that compare their multi day ticket prices to Disney’s single day ticket costs, and never, ever buy used tickets.
